About Rose City Acupuncture

You Don’t Have to Settle for “Good Enough”

Maybe you’re pushing through pain.

Maybe you’re training hard and want your body to keep up.

Maybe your labs look fine, but something still feels off.

Or maybe you simply want to move, sleep, and live with more ease.

Whatever brought you here, you deserve care that looks deeper - not just at symptoms, but at how your whole body is functioning.

That is the foundation of my practice.

I know what it’s like to feel trapped by pain

In 2001, a serious car accident left me largely housebound and in constant pain. I went from being a rock-climbing martial artist to living on the couch in agony. I was told by multiple doctors that I would never walk normally again. The physical pain was relentless, and the emotional toll was devastating. It wasn’t until I discovered acupuncture and advanced medical massage that my body finally began to heal and I made a complete recovery.

That experience fundamentally shaped the way I practice. It gave me a deep respect for the resilience of the human body, and for the very real emotional impact of chronic pain. I don’t just treat symptoms; I listen carefully, work thoughtfully, and meet you where you are. I truly understand what it’s like to feel trapped by pain, and I know how transformative the right care can be.

Clinical training that supports real results

Before acupuncture school, I trained in functional anatomy, biomechanics, and bodywork as a personal trainer and bodybuilder. I learned how muscles, joints, and movement patterns work together and what happens when they fail.

I later attended chiropractic school and earned my Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2005. My training includes acupuncture, acupressure, Chinese herbal medicine, Tuina medical massage, and Qi Gong energy work.

For you, that means your care is grounded in both structural understanding and holistic medicine. We look at the full picture: nervous system, movement, hormones, digestion, stress, and emotional health.

Here are a few things Rose City Acupuncture can help with

Back, neck and joint pain • Sports performance • Migraines and Headaches • Gastrointestinal Issues • Insomnia and Nightmares • Tingling and Numbness • Stress and Anxiety • Nerve Repair • Fertility and Hormones • Foot Health • Sinus and Allergies • Stroke Recovery • TMJ Disfunction • Fibromyalgia • Smoking Cessation

Thoughtful, root-cause care

It may feel like your body is broken, but we can tap into its natural adaptability and resilience. I will listen carefully, assess thoroughly, and support you and your body in your healing process.

That means meeting you where you are and creating a treatment plan tailored specifically to your history, symptoms, and goals.

You are never just a diagnosis here.

Outside the Clinic

When I’m not in practice, you’ll likely find me studying history, traveling, creating jewelry, or participating in a Star Wars cosplay event with my husband Robert.

Healing is not just about eliminating pain. It’s about returning to a life that feels full again.

And that’s what I want for you.

Kind Words

Amazing experience. Sharon put me at ease, especially with this being my first experience with acupuncture. I had been using a cane to feel more stable for 4 days. After the treatment, I left forgetting my cane, feeling great. I had to turn back around and get it "just in case." I am excited to see how this helps my body.

Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Sharon’s existence. As a disabled, fat human it is so refreshing to be treated with respect and dignity. I relocated to the area last year and was thrilled to find an acupuncturist that is skilled and kind. Whether I have gone for maintenance or am in an acute situation Sharon has taken amazing care of me and consistently provided relief and support. Highly recommend.

Sharon treated me in a virtual appointment for autoimmune issues. Not only did she help with acupressure and nutrition advice (which has improved my issues tremendously), she was very considerate of my autism-related communication needs. Thank you so much for the valuable help!
